Miss Anita Ruth SIMMONS, 18, of Marshall died at 11:55 p.m,  Sunday Sept 1, 1963 at Robert Long Hospital; had been seriously  ill 8 weeks and failing health 3 years. She was born Aug 9, 1945  at Crawfordsville, daughter of Oral and Ruth Burkhart Simmons.  1963 graduate of Turkey Run HS and active in many school  functions. She was vice president of her class and had served as  student director of band for two years. National Honor Society;  Future Homemakers of America; Pep Club. Also served on staff of  the Warrior, school yearbook; Student Council and member of  choir. She had enrolled and been accepted at Hanover College  where she would have been a Freshman. She had been an active  member of 4-H 8 years and attended wolf Creek Community Church  where she was active in church affairs. She is survived by her  parents; one brother, Keith at home; maternal Grandparents, Mr.  and Mrs. George Burkhart; grandfather, Claude Simmons. Funeral  services were held at 2 p.m Wednesday afternoon at Wolf Creek  community church with Rev. John Servies officiating; burial in  church Cemetery.
